Local option income tax approved in Huntington County (Marion Chronicle-Tribune)

HUNTINGTON — The Huntington County Council voted 5-1 to approve a new local option income tax Monday night. Following a lengthy public meeting, the council approved a qualified residential 0.25 percent tax for 2009 and a 0.1 percent public safety tax, The Herald-Press reported Tuesday.
